In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.

Louise’s blogs have really helped me get going. For example, after I read her tip Plan to Exercise back in April, I put Senior Center workout sessions on my calendar. (They have a nice weight room and okay cardio room.) However, the weather was so beautiful that I just couldn’t go inside to exercise … but I didn’t want to skip exercise either. So, I put on my headphones and went for walks around the neighborhood. Flowering trees, daffodils, bluebells all put on quite a show this spring.
I’ve kept on walking rather than working out inside, and I still MUST put it on the calendar or I don’t do it. I rarely walk at exactly the time I’ve set on the calendar; sometimes I’ve gone for a brief walk and then another walk later rather than just one walk. Having “walk/workout” on my Google calendar gets my butt out the door even if I change the time or some other aspect. So, I will keep on planning and keep on adjusting.
