I love a good soapbox speech, lol! Seriously, though, I love that you made this choice so early. You're absolutely right that we do not receive enough education about it. I hardly drink pop at all anymore-I'm too busy drinking water. It is something I'll have when I'm "cheating," which tells you how I classify it. My whole life it's been diet pop though, which as you said, is probably worse. It's funny how much I limit it for my daughter- diet even moreso than regular - because I don't want her to have the chemicals, but it is something that I would totally go to town on with the free refills and such!
I'm so glad you're keeping your daughter away from it! I'm not a parent (I just play one on TV, har har har), but I hope to be one some day -- and if/when that day comes, I will be keeping my kids away from that stuff like the plague. Switching to water is a great choice for yourself, Dianna. It's hard to get off pop completely, and there's probably a day a year where I want one and I have one, and because I never do apart from that, I feel no worry or shame about it. As long as it's limited and under control, I think you'll be fine -- at least, far better off than the guzzlers. Yay for you and your focus on life improvement!
