Well, it's been quite a while since I wrote the previous blog post. I started off really well but seem to have totally stalled over the last 2 weeks (lost less than a pound) due to a combination of factors:
- I am now the weight that I always seem to get stuck at when I try to diet - so difficult to get past it!
- It was my birthday last week so have had additional birthday socialising (although on the whole I was really good - I even arranged for a few of us to cycle to the restaurant to burn some calories, although I did have quite a few cocktails later on!).
- It's the time of the month where I always get really bloated, and aside from not having lost much weight, it's a bit demoralising that although I am lighter (my weight chart is proof!), I feel just as big as when I started!
Also it is my friend's hen do this weekend, so I will be away for 3 days, eating and drinking out, and will lose some of the control I have been keeping over my diet.
It is so frustrating - I was doing so well until the last couple of weeks, I have completely overhauled my diet and really reduced my drinking. And I haven't even had any major lapses in the last couple of weeks, just been quite a bit less focussed than before. And drinking more, which I suppose might be the problem.
Anyway, I finished ahead of my goal last month (yay!) so technically I have a bit of contingency - I now have 3lbs to lose in the next 2-and-a-bit weeks, which technically is very achievable provided I don't go totally overboard eating and drinking this weekend. I'm going to step up my exercise as well, although I do a fair amount of exercise regularly anyway, so it can be difficult to fit more in. I went for a bike ride today and am going to go for another one tomorrow, pre-emptively before the weekend's excesses!
I am determined to complete all the stages of this challenge and not to lose money. I got this. Honest.
