I have lost the first 5, so to get to my goal, I have 58 to go. Sounds like a really big number. I probably should bump that up to 60 so I have some cushion since that was barely normal BMI. I hope my doctor is proud by the time I return in October. Maybe my blood sugar will have returned to normal and I will no longer be a pre-diabetic, that would be sweet. Having a little trouble yesterday with Fiber, and a lot of days with protein. The high fiber stuff is high carb stuff, not protein. Benefiber may need used more frequently. My health has also forced the decrease of alcohol, an 8 beer night became a 3 beer night. 2 regular -nice savoured and enjoyed beers, and one light beer. I think I will get some Mic Ultra for the pool. I am not sure they have light beer in Ireland, I am guessing I will savour my fewer beers, one to two waters, and then be the DD. That is fine, I feel icky when I drink now. I spent 3 weeks without alcohol and I think my new found health problems just do not like it anyway. I will be healthier and live longer. Now onto soda/pop, I have had no soda in the last 2 weeks, I had one the week before that. I never drank real pop, so that was not the issue, just trying to get rid of the diet soda bloat. I am beginning to believe that is real. I took it a step further and I have not been using the artificial sweetened coffee creamer anymore either. I switched to a flavored coffee with a little cream and truvia. I am hoping truvia is okay, one pack per coffee cup. However, I did get a bottle of the concentrated creamer coffee mate 2 go for my trip to ireland. I really didn't read the label, but sometimes in another country, I really struggle with their coffee. Too strong for me in most of Europe. 2 birthday parties today. Kiddie party at noon, and adult party in the evening. I am really going to struggle with what to eat at both of those. I do not want to take my own high fiber bread, so that is out. I guess I can just skip the bread all together. I think sloppy joes at the kid party and burgers at the adult party. Hoping for veggie and fruit trays. Maybe I will take one of those to the adult party-she didnt ask for food, but do we ever really mind someone bringing a side? I guess it depends on the person, she is pretty easy going though. And of course, between all of that is pool time. So water water water needed today too. I guess I can carry my own water glass to my events too. Avoid the pop, beer, sweet tea, and lemonade. My goal this week is to contine with the water intake, use fitday, fiber 35-35 g per day, and make sure I get enough protein. At some point excercise needs to be a goal too.

Sign in to CommentAmazing progress!! You are really making this a life style change. About the fiber/carb issue: There are good carbs and bad carbs. Anything with sugar and white flour, white bread., white rice,... is a bad idea. But whole grain rice or bread and veggies also have plenty of carbs - but the good kind. Those are complex carbs with plenty of fiber. Complex carbs are absorbed slowly, so they don't jack up your blood sugar. They will be absorbed even more slowly, if you have them with a little protein. That's why beans and other legumes are so good for you: They contain both protein and good carbs for a perfect mix. Hope this helps. I love how you pre-plan the parties and the vacation, actually. I started bringing food to parties as well. People are usually happy when I do - and I always have at least one safe food to eat. :-)
