So, I joined my first DietBet today. I actually joined my first, and second, DietBets today. I needed a goal to work towards and I figured this was a good one. I mean, who doesn't like money?!
I have over 100lbs to lose and after many failed attempts and getting rid of the pounds, this time I am more serious than I've ever been. No, really.
I realized that all my previous attempts were simply focused on the weight dropping. This time, I'm looking at my health and wellness as a whole. And I'm taking control.
In addition to wanting to lose the fat, I'm more focused on other aspects. I'm seeing a chiropractor so that my spine, and everything, is aligned (it was a little out of wack and my pelvis was way outta wack). I also did food intolerance testing so that I can eliminate foods I shouldn't eat, for me. I have multiple auto-immune disorders and I don't want my body fighting itself anymore. The change in eating is going to be huge I think. I also joined Crossfit, and try to go three times a week. I'm looking at increasing that soon.
I am also turning dreams into goals. It's been on my bucket list, for about twenty years, to do a Triathlon. Problem is, I can't run. Like at all. But I'm going to change that. I plan on doing walk/runs (no particular program because that just adds anxiety for me). I also have a 100m area next to my house that I plan on running short distances. This will help with my Crossfit runs as we do 200 or 400 meter runs at times.
I know a bunch of things I want to change, begin, etc. so it's just a matter of focusing and putting them to fruition. As well, I need to come up with goals to work towards. I've never been good at that and that could be one of the reasons I failed before. I will come up with my goals, with timeframes, and write them down so that I can remind myself of them and keep going back to them.
My first DietBet starts in 6 days, so my first goal is to lose 4% during that game. My second game starts in 12 days, the overlap should be fine.
