So I've lost 21lbs on Diet bets since I started in June. This is awesome.
My journey has been a long one and as with so many not very pleasant.
In 2007 I was diagnosed with an Auto-Immune condition. Okay - Let's treat it and move on. Predinisone SUCKS. Its a miracle drug - fixes autoimmune inflammation, but the side affects of prolonged use are HORRID.
I have was the miracle drug for for 3 years. I had an auto-immune firestorm - multiple conditions cropped up between Nov 2007 and May of 2009. I have Celiac Disease, I lost the balance sensors in both ears from an Auto-Immune inner ear infection. I had to relearn to walk/balance without these things that we take for granted.
In May of 2015 - Just over a year after giving birth to 2 beautiful and health twins (Boy/Girl). I went in for a routine Endocrinologist appt. In 6 months I had gained 20lbs while nursing the twins and trying to be more active. This made no sense!! I asked to take Metformin to try and help get me started loosing some weight. While the twins were growing and healthy, I was not happy and knew I wasn't attractive to my hubby. IT SUCKED.
The Metformin helped get a start in the right direction. I joined Diet Bets in June. I saw some more progress. Then in September I talked with my OB and took a leap of faith. I started the Optifast program on Sept 14th. Official start was 185. I am not 172. 13lbs down so far. I'm starting to see the inches are gone as well as the numbers on the scale changing.
Now to the subject of this post. From the week of 10-26 to the week of 11-2 - I actually did not see a weight change. Halloween happened and I really didn't avoid the candy bowls at work and home like I should have. Monday I realized - I need to make some major changes in my thought process. I'd been letting myself have a slice of cheese in my soups - not horrid, better than having candy or something sweet - but still not truly staying on plan.
So - Monday I still couldn't get in the game. Tuesday - I almost did. Wednesday - I had 2 small pieces of candy and a piece of lunch meat. This was an improvement - and I saw the scale move this morning WOO HOO. Today - so far I've been only plan. Now to stay that way and no candy and no cheese. I need to work on journaling daily - so I can see what makes it hard, why I'm not sticking to my plan and remember that I am doing this for me. To provide a healthy example for my children and to help my Hubby see the woman he physically fell in love with again. I"m getting there. 198 to 172 is not a shabby move. My goal is about 130.. so around 42 lbs to go.
Thanks for reading and the support!
