So, I am a diabetic. Type 2, currently medicated. Was unmedicated until I gained 20lbs back over the past several months.
My FAVORITE breakfast is a low-carb wrap, PB2, and a banana.
Well, apparently the bananas are really screwing with my blood sugar levels. I haven't had any issues over the past month until I added bananas back in my diet.
I try to keep my carbs between 100-150 per day (doctor recommended). I already had to cut out oranges and grapefruit because of the same issue.
Now, we are not talking super duper sugar spikes, but they are enough to make me feel like crap. It didn't hit me until yesterday that that may be what was causing it. I had been doing the low-carb wrap, roasted chicken and mayo for breakfast. Was out of cooked chicken, and was really being lazy, so tried adding the banana back in, so I didn't have to cook. And I love banana and peanut butter together.
Seems that the only fruit I can tolerate is strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi. At least for now.
This makes me a sad panda...
Soooooooooooo....bye-bye bananas. At least for now.
