So my 21 day commitment to follow The FMD has ended. I lost a little over 7 pounds (I think) - I try not to be too caught up on the scale and more about the overall results.
Most of that was the first week (I am sure no drinking was a big part of that). As I look back I think I have been drinking WAY too much water. I evaluated this after someone in the FMD group posted about her trip to the hospital - low electrolytes, low pottasium, etc... I did a calcuation and I have actually been drinking about 180+ ounces of water a day - about double the 1/2 my body weight recommendation. Anyway I have many more observations, but don't want to bore you LOL.
From now until the 1st I will be focusing on preparing for my January 1st five day D-Burn, WHILE enjoying the holidays. To aid in my goal I am going to:
- Have at least one vegetable with every meal and one of my snacks
- Continue to have at least 1 snack a day
- Cut back and drink only 1/2 my weight in ounces of water (unless I do a really sweaty workout)
- Include my healthy fiber that I love and include beans in at least 7 of my meals a week
- Reintroduce a limited amount of caffeine - one cup of green herbal tea a day
- Reintroduce wheat, but only in sourdough or rye breads
- Reintroduce Happy Hour with Art :)
- Thoroughly enjoy holiday treats made by my friends and not feel guilty - just include an additional workout on treat days
- Experiment with essential oil "belly" rubs
Plan for the day:
Breakfast: Poached eggs with pumpernickle toast, organic gala apple and cinnamon scented pumpkin puree
Snack: Wheat grass/pineapple/carrot smoothie
Lunch: Tuna salad on pumpernickle with a mango spinach smoothie
Happy Hour: Vodka and mixed nuts
Dinner: Chicken Chili with Wild Rice
