So, it's been two weeks now. I am about 5% of my initial weight down, which, of course, means mostly water and glycogen, and maybe 1.5-2% fat. However, it's not just waterweight - clothes seem looser and I see fat retreating in some easy-to-notice places (in my case it's under jawbone and on the wrists). I am quite happy with the progress so far.
I am signing up for a new dietbet kickstarter every week, and now starting my third one. The first one I've already beaten, roughly 10 days into the bet. The second one's goal is still about 1.5kg away, but with three weeks to go I am quite sure I can make it. The third one is going to be tough, the official weight in coincided with a sudden drop in weight, so it will be very hard. That's 4% of pure fat that I need to get rid of, no more waterweight to easily shed. I have a total of 170$ on those bets and God knows my wife will be very upset if I don't get it all back :-)
I am keeping 1500kcal diet, no exceptions or accidents this past week. No cheat days. Anything that gets into my face gets logged in MyFitnessPal before eating. I feel continuously hungry for the last two weeks, and whenever I am not hungry (the 5 mins after eating) I feel a bit concerned. I guess that's good for now. Dieting is not about feeling good now, it's about feeling good later.
I am exercising for 60 min daily, again no exceptions. I am walking the stairs while listening to audiobooks. I am not skipping stairs yet nor running. Currently I can climb around 100 floors per hour. I use IPhone for floor climbing and it is surprisingly accurate - it counts exactly as many floors as I actually climb.
I am looking for a gadget to a) reward me and b) keep me motivated but so far I am undecided what to buy. Fitbit Charge HR seems like a decent tracker. Garmin Vivosmart HR is also good, but the independent reviews that start to pop up on amazon suggest it's accuracy in counting steps and floors is very, very bad. (Interestingly, none of the popular reviewers on youtube mentions any problems). So I am probably going to hold to my IPhone for now and save myself the $150. I may end up buying one of those really good locking trackers like Garmin Fenix 3 but again, I am in no rush, and before I start rewarding myself with anything expensive I want to see the weight loss of 10%. Well, wish me luck!
