Last Christmas, my wonderful brother gave me a women's golf shirt, size large.  I was NOT a size large.  To make matters worse, it was one of those Nike, quick dry, athletic tops that suctions itself to all lumps.  I could barely get it on and it was so tight I could see EVERYTHING as if I was naked!  I had to ask my husband for help to get it off of me.  I was too embarrassed to ask my brother if there was a return receipt so that I could exchange it for an XL or XXL.  Instead, I buried it in the bottom of my dresser in the hope that one day I would fit into it, but knowing that I probably never would.

Fast forward to this past Saturday, I attended a holiday party and won a door prize of one women's golf shirt, size medium.  Same style with suction-like qualities.  I've been on my health journey since June and on my 4th DietBet kickstarter, but I knew I was NOT a size medium.  Sure enough, it was a repeat of last Christmas, too tight, needed help getting it off, etc.  BUT, I realized that I had just pulled a medium sized shirt on and I had gotten into it even though it looked pretty bad!

I rushed to dig out that shirt from last Christmas and pulled it on easily.  Not only did it fit, but it didn't cling to my stomach at all!  I was shocked!  Total non-scale victory!!

Things like this remind me that the numbers on the scale are not all that matter.  That I am making progress, even though it's slow, it's progress.  I've come a long way since last Christmas and I can't wait to see what I accomplish in 2016!  Maybe I'll be wearing this new medium sized golf shirt!
