Hi Adrienne. I never heard of the the five bite diet before and went looking for more information on it. I don't want to be negative, but it doesn't look very healthy to me. Here's what I read: "Crash diets can cause your metabolism to slow down, decrease your immune function and cause heart palpitations, according to an article published on CNN.com in April 2010." Also, "A healthier alternative to this diet would be to follow the USDA's MyPlate program -- simply fill half of your plate with non-starchy vegetables and fruits and divide the other half between whole grains and a lean protein source. Top off your meal with a glass of non-fat milk or another source of calcium. You'll be able to minimize the amount of calories you consume while getting plenty of nutrients if you fill your plate mainly with foods that are low in energy density, meaning those that don't contain a lot of calories per gram. This allows you to eat a greater volume of food while still staying within your daily calories, so you can lose weight without having to feel hungry." We've all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and the five bite diet encourages you to skip it! You wouldn't expect a car to run without gas. How do you expect your body to run properly if you don't fuel it? Don't turn to fad diets, Adrienne. It's a lifestyle change. We've learned that. It's the journey, not the destination. Do you want to make yourself sick losing the weight? You've encouraged so
