I started dietbet just over a month ago with a 6th Month Transformer challenge to lose 10% of my body weight in 6 months. I missed my 1 month goal by half a pound. So... I reevaluated what I am doing and set new personal goals.
This week I challenged myself to get outside my comfort zone and when it gets comfortable push myself to a new level.
I joined a second dietbet "Dani's Challenge" a 4 week 4% weight loss challenge.
My commitments to myself this week were:
- Practice a "flexitarian" diet with more veggie based proteins. Keep track of everything I eat on MyFitnessPal (which I have been using faithfully for 25 days now)
- I joined a fitness and yoga studio August 12th. This week I committed to myself to participate in a cardio class every day. I committed to "work in" 2 yoga classes.
- Put over 10,000 steps a day on my Jawbone UP24.
- Go to bed early, breathe deeply and rest.
Well this week I have pushed myself and am enjoying it immensely:
- I used MyFitnessPal in a more proactive approach and pre-planned my day (allowing myself to change it as needed). This gave me a great starting point. Also, I no longer use my exercise "bonus food/calories). I target the original daily goals.
- I participated in cardio classes every day: Cardio Blast, Weight Training, Zumba Gold, Power Pump (steps, bands and hand weights), Zumba Gold, and then pushed myself to Zumba and today... Zumba WHOOT!
- I participated in yoga 4 times (including this afternoon's session)
- So far I have walked over 10,000 each day and have logged 95,983 steps - wow I am going to push myself to hit 100,000 before the day is through!
- I have gone to bed earlier and am feeling much more rested and energetic.
Yesterday I decided to push myself harder and joined my third dietbet "Tony's Comeback Challenge" which starts in 3 days.
On another note, I noticed I felt dizzy a couple times during yoga and thought I was just a little over-heated. Then yesterday when I was looking through the closet at my workout shoe options I felt dizzy when I stood up - so I took my blood pressure 93/64 - so this week I will talk with Doc about lowering my already low dose of HCTZ.
I have also enjoyed trying some plant-base proteins, which I will talk about another time LOL. Thanks!
