I am down 5.4 pounds since starting on dietbet on January 1st.  I know it comes off really fast the first week, and I am drinking lots of water to coutneract the amount of water weight that is probably coming off first.  I have had good success with the plan I am using in the past, it is just that with time comes too many little cheats that snowball into big ones.  I have to guard against those little cheats.  My health depends on it.

Today I am going to the pool to swim laps.  The pool is always dead on Sundays and often I have it to myself or there is only one other person swimming.  It's nice.  It's like I get to be in my own little world, though swimming is like that anyway.  It shuts out the sights and the sounds of the world and it is just me and clear blue and the ease of my body moving through the water.

I've always loved to swim.  There is nothing more peaceful to me and nothing that makes my body feel better.  I think it must, in many ways, be like flying.  The closest we can come to it anyway without machines or contraptions.
