Ever have one of those days when you aren't hungry? Ha, me either! Today I was just hungry and no matter what I did it just wouldn't go away. So I decided to try the new zombierun 5k training app that I downloaded instead of eating. Just to throw this out there, when you talk about those couch to 5k programs they have I'm DEFINITELY starting from the couch. I'm not a runner, I've never been good at it, I have no willpower to keep myself running and I have no stamina, I tired very fast and easily. I wanted to try though because my husband likes to run, he hasn't been running lately but maybe me getting out and trying to will inspire him to start again. He used to run like 15 miles a day... that sounds like death to me but hopefully after 8 weeks I'll be up to a 5k. This app is really cool! I usually need something to keep me motivated and what better way than someone screaming about the zombies that are catching up :) Actually today was just like an orientation to the app and storyline. I won't tell you the story incase you are wanting to try it, but I will say that it kept me outside and moving for 40 mins. I know that isn't a long time to most people, but I probably would have made it about 5 mins without the app. There is also an app called The Walk that is made by the same app developers (or whatever they are called), it sounds like it would be a lot of fun too and a little less intense than running if running sounds daunting to you.
I also weighed in today and wasn't super excited, I lost 1.4 pounds. Which is awesome, but I was hoping for a little more. Maybe zombies will get my butt in gear and I'll start getting a little better results. I do have to remind myself that it hasn't even been quite a week since I started diet bet and that I still have lots of time. How are all of you doing? Is anyone else trying any new apps or workout programs that you are excited about?
