I've lost an organ but that was 2 years ago (my spleen - and I'm fine now). It's interesting to weigh yourself last thing at night and then first thing in the morning. You can genuinely lose weight in your sleep. When you eat less than your body needs, it burns fat and you breathe out the waste gases from this. Also some of it is dehydration. I don't recommend stinting on the water drinking though! So, go to bed slightly hungry.
