So we've reached the difficult part... gaining muscle :) The number on the scale actually increased a tiny bit since yesterday, despite a rather large calorie allowance left over at the end of the day. And I'm almost certain it's because I went on that 3.5 mile run last night, building up my leg muscles. My legs do not really thin out ever, they just get firmer. lol. That run was incredibly difficult, but it felt good to go out and the weather was gorgeous <3 Despite not having run in months and months, we didn't stop to walk as often as I had expected to. It was really nice to have the husband there. It was his first time doing this particular run, and he did even better than I did! It'll be fun to see us both progress together. I also decided to track using both my Fitbit and MapMyRun... turns out my Fitbit is actually underestimating my stride length... so I might have to adjust that a bit eventually. Glad to see it's underestimating rather than overestimating, though!
My eating yesterday was really good as well. Calorie intake was approx 1,228. I allowed for a couple more snacks because I knew the run was coming up. Had a veggie burger and leftover ratatouille for lunch, and then homemade greek yogurt chicken salad with more ratatouille for dinner. All healthy! I did, however, kind of *forget* to drink water in the morning, so I didn't make my goal. Got 46oz. Which is still much more than my usual 0. But today I'll be better about that.
Today I missed my walk because of an early morning networking meeting, and I'm kind of sad about that. I've really enjoyed getting up and getting my day started that way. But oh well, the weather is pretty gloomy anyway. Not sure what I've decided on for my workout today... my legs are pretty sore. I think the husband wanted to do some yoga tonight, which would be a good plan. But I *might* also hop on my elliptical for a bit. It's not a ton of resistance, and it would probably be good to get those muscles moving in some capacity. Besides, yoga does very little for calorie burn for me.
Dinner tonight is a roasted carrot salad that I really love. Last time I made a loaf of fresh bread to go with it, but I'm going to forego that this time around. My body will thank me :)
Hope you are all enjoying your day and making great decisions!
