Resolution Progress
- 10,000 steps a day - 7/7 and still going strong
- Daily kettlebells - 0/7, I’ve been too fond of my lie-ins and too bad at remembering
- Daily weigh-ins -7/7, moving in the right direction
- Daily food logging - 7/7
- Weekly blog every Sunday - 0.5/1, it’s actually Monday, but I was snowed under with prep for a supervisor meeting for today
Tracking my food intake feels like the missing piece. I have been more active consistently for almost eight months, but my eating can really let me down. It is just so easy to ‘have a treat’ or ‘join in’ or ‘not want to let something so tasty go to waste’, and suddenly you’re over 1,000cal over your planned intake without noticing. Yet no one ever accidentally burns 1,000cal without noticing.
There may have been a hiccup with a small easter egg, but that’s not the end of the world.
I have my eyes on the prize of reaching ONEderland by my final weigh-in. It is closer to 14% than 10%. I haven’t weighed that since about 5 years ago, when I made it down to 200lbs and then went off the boil, regained all the weight, and some reinforcements on top. It is pretty dispiriting, thinking about all of that time and effort losing and gaining the same weight over and over again, yet never breaking into ONEderland properly, nevermind making it to my non-obese weight of 185lbs.
So, onwards with thoughtfulness, perseverance and the quiet knowledge that I not only can do this, but I am doing this.
