The most important thing when losing weight isn't the weight in itself, but all the other things you accomplish by losing it. in July I wrote a post on my achievements. In short they were;
- Eating breakfast every day
- Eating half or more of every plate as vegetables or salad
- Drinking a lot of water and almost no soda.
- Four meals a day
- Meal planning a week at a time
- Exercise 5 days a week
- Replaced chocolate with dark chocolate
The last couple of weeks I have had a setback. I haven't eaten that well, my exercise level has been lower and I have had chocolate. Compared to my "bad days" before I started this it is still pretty good though. Now, I just need to find my way back to the mindset I had before August and the summer vacation mind set took over.
So, in the EDBS DietBet, Teresa Marie ask us today what we have done this month that we are proud of, and I have the following things;
- I have managed to do some kind of movement every day, even though it is not much. I haven't had the hard workouts, or the long ones either, but I have had some kind of movement.
- I have calmed down the alcohol intake except special occations. OK, there have been to many special occations lately, but at least I don't drink alcohol in weekdays just because I want to.
- I have been better at not eating of boredom.
As you may see, the list isn't that long. I actually feel like I haven't done much to be proud of this month, but what makes me proud is all the NSVs (Non scale victories) I have had;
- Moved my beltbuckle in 4 notches since the beginning
- Have lost 1-2 sizes in clothing (depends on the figure of the clothing)
- ALL my clothes are now too big, except some clothes I bought 8-10 years ago.
- I feel skinnier. Stomach, face, arms, breasts and so on seems to be smaller
- I feel healthier. I can walk stairs without pain. I have better condition. I can actually work out for longer without getting tired.
- I sleep better. Not perfect, but better.
- I feel more myself (changed my hair, my clothes a bit and so on as well).
- People tell me pretty often that I look good
- My chiropractor is saying he thinks I have done good, and that he can see the difference. I can also feel the difference in my back, shoulders and knees.
For the next couple of months I am hoping to get back on track, do the rest of my achievement list from July, and win a DB4! :)
