I have avoided every kind of toning there is. In the past, I would try to do a video and not be able to keep up. I would quit part way through and feel like a failure. Burpees were not an option. Even modified, they were often too much for me.
Don't get me wrong, I still avoid that stuff. I have good intentions to finally start something other than running. Just like I have good intentions to clean out closets and scrub baseboards. Ultimately, I'm not committed.
However, a fellow referee shared a March challenge that consists of pushups, burpees, etc (I frankly can't remember the rest because I only remembered to participate on March 1).
And guess what? I can do a burpee. In fact, I did extra ones because I couldn't believe it. And then I cried a few tears of joy. (yep, really)
Who knows, maybe some day I will be willing to try a Jillian Michael's video again. Ok, probably not. But I can try some other ones.
