I've made it past the one week mark on my sugar detox. Today was a bit of a strange day for me, because I was on campus and then at work. My one class on Tuesday mornings will allow for snacks, but only if they're not crunchy. Considering my favourite snacks involve fresh vegetables or apples, it makes it a little difficult. Also, going back to school has really thrown out my feeding times. I no longer have a set schedule, and have to eat when I can. I had a snack around 5:30 tonight, and then came home for dinner...
As for the foods, not too bad. Breakfast was once again the quick and easy yogurt, protein powder, and a peach.
I devoured an apple and a cheese string during the five minute break we got during class.
Lunch was left over grilled chicken and beans with my bucket of veggies I didn't get to eat earlier and some dill dip.
My late snack was some summer sausage, Baby Bell and Laughing Cow cheeses, and a pear.
Dinner tonight was a breaded, stuffed chicken parmesan, but I scraped all of the breading off. I also had sauteed vegetables and a spinach salad with blueberries and blue cheese dressing.
I ate more today that in previous days. Of my 1500 calories;
Fat: 37%
Protein: 28%
Carbs' 35% (78 g of sugar).
I'd like to see the protein go up and the carbs come down. The chicken didn't help, because I'm counting it as if I ate the whole thing.
On the plus side, I wore my jeans for the first time in a while. I bought them more than a year ago when I was significantly lighter than at the start of the challenge. They're loose in the waist and thighs now. Also, my skin doesn't feel tight any more, which was my main drive for signing up for the challenge. I'd already ripped a hole in the seams of my pants, and I felt like I was about to split my skin. This is a huge improvement.
