Years ago, my doctor had me do a food journal for her for two weeks.  I mailed it to her.  When I went in for my follow-up a month later, she sat looking at my file and said "you never sent me the food journal."  I responded that I had and that when I did it I was appalled at the amount of carbs I ate.  She looked at me and said, "you did send it to me, I wrote on it 'too many carbs, you are a carb-aholic.'  We'll talk about this next appt."  I never got it.  She was embarrassed, couldn't find it in my file, asked her staff and someone said that they remembered mailing it back but couldn't remember to whom.  I started laughing and responded that there is someone out there that got this weird food journal from her, with this note and they are wondering "how does SHE know what I am eating?"  We laughed until we cried.  Then we talked carbs.  Obviously, I didn't get the message because I am still a carb-aholic.

I am still actively journalling.  Yesterday wasn't too shabby, in spite of life interefering.

My son is a freshman in high school and does marching band.  They have Wednesday evening practices from 6:00 to 8:30.  While he is practicing, a group of moms fix the uniforms (i.e., we sew on buttons, patch collars, stitch up hems . . . think old fashioned quilting bees, but with marching band uniforms).  It is fun and you cannot sew and eat at the same time.  I bring a water bottle.  When we get home, it is usually close to 9:00.

Wednesday evenings are usually my "not eating much of anything for dinner" day.  No time before, on Wednesday due to my husband work schedule, we usually don't get home until 5:30 and eating after 9:00 is not something my stomach enjoys.   To be honest, I usually sit with my husband and we enjoy a glass of wine.

Well, last evening, NorthEast Ohio was bombarded with storms, including four tornadoes.  Marching Band was cancelled but not until we had gotten to the school.  At that point, I called my husband and told him we were on our way home.  I had to make cupcakes for open-house tonight so it wasn't too bad of a thing.  When I got home, my husband was thoroughly happy with himself because he had popped a pizza into the oven.  Oh, joy.

********Did you know that on MyFitnessPal, you can scan the barcode and get the nutrition information downloaded?  How cool is that! *********

So, my 1.5 slices of Mama Cozzi (Aldi brand) Rising Crust Supreme Pizza, was a total of 510 calories, with 63 carbs, 19.5 fat and 21 protein.  Shoot me now!  This is the first refined carb I have had since Sunday.

Yesterday totals came to:

1,526 calories with:

56 fat (goal is 57)

530 cholestoral (goal is 300)

3322 sodium (goal is 2300)

92 carbs (goal is 128 . . . which truly needs to be cut down to 40 . . . so I was actually over by 52)

70 proteins (goal is 170)

Bah humbug . . . I know, I know and my husband force fed me the pizza!  Oh, and look there goes a flying pig . . .
