----------------------------COMPLETED! SEE SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM------------------------------
I'm a list-maker at heart, and although I use MFP to keep track of calories (username: Rebelduck), I think I'd like use this blog feature to document my habits and see the big picture during challenge. I wasn't sure about making it public, but hey, some extra accountability won't hurt!
So here goes nothing. I'll be adding daily entries to this post from now on.

I woke up ravenous (I forgot how much hungrier I am the morning after a workout) and scrarfed down the first edible I encountered — a croissant. Ate a healthy but substantial lunch but didn't save enough calories for surprise Indian food at a friend's house, followed by a cupcake. Oh well! It's still a deficit. :)

I am really ridiculously excited about eating a pile of broccoli with dinner tonight — I do slosh on some of Soy Vay's "Veri Veri Teriyaki" sauce, but it only adds about 50 extra calories and it's so worth it. Mmm...I'm drooling here.

Bought a size small shirt that fits beautifully! Tons of energy today. I think minimizing my dairy intake is helping...somewhat to my dismay (I love cheese).

I didn't mean to go so low calorie today. Just got busy and missed lunch, quaffing coffee instead. Then met friends but didn't want to spend money on dinner out. Nibbled a bit when I got home, but only a bit.
Day 17 - Thursday, Sept. 25
fuel
1134 calories
NSVs/notes
Oof. I did NOT sleep well last night. Our neighbor was playing music loudly next door and I was too exhausted pry myself out of bed to close the window, but not exhausted enough to stay asleep for long with the breeze carrying the noise inside. When I'm tired I usually want to stuff my face with extra food. Not going to do it, though!
Game-changing new discovery — I had given up sushi in an effort to save money, but today I learned that a tin of sardines plus a splash of teriyaki sauce is the answer to my unagi cravings. I had this magic combo for lunch on a bed of spinach and cucumber, and it very deliciously filled me up for mere 250 calories. It helps that I already love sardines. Tasty results not guaranteed for anyone else. :)
GOAL!
I came home and weighed myself, and promptly replaced the batteries in my scale because I thought it was lying to me. Nope, I hit my goal! No celebrations yet, though — I'd love to lose a couple extra pounds as a flunctuation buffer, plus I'm still about 30 from my ultimate goal.
I'd like to thank the teriyaki sardines who helped me on this journey.
:D
Day 18 - Friday, Sept. 26
fuel
1611 calories
NSVs/Notes
On the plus side, I can fit into the knee-high boots my mom gave me last Christimas! However, the high-sodium dinner I had last night pushed me off my goal by half a pound. As long as I keep my calorie count under control, I'll be all right. I've been letting myself splurge to 1600 calories on weekends, as long as I stay under 1200 during the week.
Day 19 - Saturday, Sept. 27

wedding = dancing and helping stack chairs after
Notes
Boston to Philly road trip! Instead of stopping for junk, I ate my healthy snacks (bananas, Fiber One 90-calorie brownies, dried plums), and spent the extra calories on wedding sangria.
Day 27 - Sunday, Oct. 5
fuel
1700 calories
Notes
All that dancing and chair-stacking paid off! I'm 2.5 under goal.
Day 28 - Monday, Oct. 6
fuel
1695 calories
Day 29 - Tuesday, Oct. 7
fuel
1044 calories
Summary
Whew! That was closer than I thought it would be. Since I was well below goal on Sunday, thinking I was safe, I chowed down on some extra calories and sodium which brought me back to the brink. All's well that ends well; I came in just under goal and was verified just in time to have some celebratory enchiladas for dinner. Tasty, salty, cheesy goodness.
Now I'm waiting for this bet to close out so I can reinvest my winnings into the next bet. I ordered a new scale as a reward — mine has been a bit shifty of late, so I'm also waiting for that to arrive. Unfortunately, the bet I'm planning to join (Jillian's Beginner Shred) started yesterday, so it looks like I'll have a few days of catching up to do.
Anyhow, that's it for this log! I'll be starting a fresh one for the new bet.
