I was having a talk to my friend in Wales (via KIK) and she was telling me how some things were bothering her. Ironically I had stuff on my mind and decided to clear my head while taking a walk. I told her that she should walk or work out until she was feeling better about herself and her situation. A lightbulb flashed in my mind. Why can't I work out when I'm feeling upset? I can do that. I can use any negative feelings and turn them into calories burned. Instead of punishing myself, why don't I use that energy to punish fat that isn't welcome?
My mother is making turkey chilli so I'm spending all day trying to plan my meals around it so I can enjoy the delicious chilli for lunch (in moderation of course). Last night I may have okay, I definately went overboard with pie and I am ashamed. This morning I went on a walk and I am going on another walk as soon as I finish writing.
My boyfriend has been having a hard time lately so I decided I'm going to make him cupcakes. I will be good and I will resist them with the power of delicious and healthy snacks and fruit. I am going to surprise him at the college tomorrow and I am going to give him cupcakes as a pick-me-up. His best friend is in on it too. I try to be a good girlfriend for my Superman (he has the Superman chin so the nickname kind of stuck besides the fact that I think he is secretly a superhero).
I am feeling confident about this week. The pies and chilli may be a setback but I know if I plan wisely and own up to what I eat, there's nothing that can stop me. Right? I'm excited to see how tomorrow and this week pans out. I just have to take this one week at a time.
I'm deciding what I will bring for dinner to work (since I don't eat past 7-7:30 and I get out at 8). I may bring a smart ones dinner for dinner or just eat an apple and a granola bar with water. I can do this!
I don't really have much to write about (for once) so I may cut it short. My question of the day is: What do you do when you are working things out? What relaxes you and clears your mind?
Things I'm grateful for:
1. The beautiful view I have of Staten Island, NY from my home in NJ
2. My very affectionate cat who loves to cuddle
3. My mother's amazing (but very unhealthy) cooking
Stay strong and good luck friends!
