My mother and grandfather and from what I understand, my great grand mother, all had dementia - and most likely Alzheimer's. You are right, it's an awful disease and very scary for me since it goes back at least three generations in my family. Fortunately I've greatly reduced my intake of simple carbs for health and weight loss reasons. But definitely a reason to continue to stay away from them. Thanks for posting this!
