One of the big benefits of changing your diet for the better, other then the whole better health thing, is you learn to love making food. Yes, healthier eating tends to be a little more time consuming when you eat fresh fruits, veggies, and local organic meats.(it is all the chopping, lots of prep work) With all of the prep and awesome foods does come kitchen fatigue, well more like kitchen clean up fatigue(live in nanny for a messy 6 month old there is always freakin dishes). So on days when fatigue is strong it is hard to fight the urge to eat out or nuke something fast(I am not a huge micowave fan and most prepackaged meals have something you don't really need in your body).
Kitchen fatigue is not the only factor that causes diet issues, company dinners are another challenge. My sister's work picked a local location that served food family style so there was lots to share. But because I had no pick over the menu I had to pick and choose what would be the lesser of all the evils. The food style was asaian inspired so fried rice and noodles were two of the options(I LOVE BOTH OF THOSE OPTIONS). It is real fun to get the weird look when you say no thanks to food that the group as a whole is eating.
So the past two days eating out has won for the most part. However I did try to make the smartest decisons so I guess my diet won a little too. Eating out can be good if you find places that strive to make real food. I haven't found that yet here but I am still on the look out for it because my diet is going to win.
Keeping it moving!
