So I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a while now and I love it. I like to do 30 minutes of cardio and then run through their 30 minute section. It's great because they have a light on the wall that tells you how long to do exercises for on each machine, so you don't have to worry about counting reps or anything. :-) However, I've only been going once a week, if that. I have still been working out at home otherwise, but I want to be able to go to the gym more often. The catch is the location of the gym is a 30 minute drive on the weekends and an hour or more during the week. (You gotta love DC traffic. LOL!) So, while I love the benefits of the gym, I don't love the comute to get to it. There's a Gold's Gym 5 minutes away that is going through the final stages of renovation though. ;-) It's open during the addition though. They're adding a salt water pool! ;-) So while it is most expensive than Planet Fitness, it'll still be worth it in the long run. I've already got into the routine of working out, so it's just continueing the trend from here on out. Plus I'll be able to go to group classes at Golds. :-) They even have a Jacob's Ladder that I've wanted to try out since I saw it on The Biggest Loser. Hehe. I can't wait!

Sign in to CommentI love Planet Fitness...but it is 5 minutes from the house. Basically doing a 1 hour round trip for a 1 hour or more workout...plus I'm sure gas in the DC area is pricey, you'll save in the long run and really it will be more of a benefit if you are using the gym more frequently!
