I've never participated in this kind of weight loss challenge and in fact I jumped in without any kind of forethoughot because the challenge had started that day, there weren't other DB10 challenges coming up & I didn't want to miss out on this one.
I have a big vacation trip coming up next June. For a variety of reasons, I need to lose weight for it. t's a group trip with my son's 7th grade class to Costa Rica. There are many activities that take place on that trip that a person of my current size will feel embarrassed about participating in. Snorkeling, Ziplining, Swimming, Hiking (my ankles hurt, my knees hurt), Caving (how am I going to fit through some of those small cave openings? i know I won't be at my goal weight by then - not by any stretch of the imagination. However if I am thinner I will feel better & ultimately some of my concerns won't be weighing quite so heavily on my mind.
But despite losing a few pounds, I have not made much progress. A few months have passed and I am starting to feel nervous. If I don't get it together then closer to the date I will start to freak out, and that usually has the effect of heading me in the opposite direction I want to go in.
So I saw the DB10 on this website and I knew I had to jump in. Right now, I am very motivated by money. I'm pretty sure that when I am struggling not to put a brownie in my mouth thinking about a cash pay-out will be pretty damn motivating. It's just win-win.
