Well, vitamin D is important and helpful. But eating? Vitamin D is build from the body. Therefor you need sun. So just go out for a walkevery day, 30 minutes is enough. Sun, fresh air and movement, that's the cheap secret. No sun is one reason for a lot of sucides in winter in sweden, norway and finland.

I live in Canada and you could stand outside completely naked for 24/7 most of the year and still get almost zero vitamin d from the sun.
