Its Saturday morning, and I'm with my 5 year old daughter. I thought going downhill skiing this moring would be fun and a good workout, but she just isn't into the idea. We are taking care of my brothers 3 dogs until tomorrow, and she seems eager to just play with them and hang out at home. We will be going to a hockey game tonight (my nephew) - they came down from Canada and are playing in a tournament nearby. There won't be much exercise in it, but it will be fun. As I type this I realize that perhaps the key to getting some exercise in today is to involve the dogs. Maybe we'll go for a really long walk.
Anyways - I was interested in some tips for what people do with their child or children in order to keep fit while at the same time as being a parent. This year we've been working on getting our daughter into gymnastics, skating, and skiing - but she is just starting on each. Gymnastics doesn't help me with fitness much (I'm just watching!), but the others are a lot of fun and work. If my daughter gets good at skiing, I think its something I'd love to do more of with her, and its a great workout. Otherwise, we occaisionally go swimming, but I feel a limited workout there because she isn't independent, and I'm mostly helping her, and doing very little "swimming".
Anyways - I'm sure I'm missing something - how do all you parents stay slim?
