So one of my biggest things about life is to maintain ambition in all things goal-oriented.  One of my goals is losing weight.  I think that motivation is the key to successfully executing ambitious goals, but where the hell do we get motivation from?

I think that there are two types of motivation: internal, or that which comes from the personal satisfaction of completing a task, or external, something that is given to us as a reward for completing a task.  I think that dietbet combines both of these things into one excellent idea.  The external reward is obviously the money that we obtain by losing a certain amount of weight, but what's more is the fact that the satisfaction of knowing that we're doing something good for OURSELVES is truly incredible.  It is also a cumulatively satisfying experience, in that with every pound we lose, we are further motivated to keep going.

Sure, we slip, we trip, we fall, but the reality of the situation, and this is what separates ambition in goals from unachievable fantasy, is that we can recover.  Dietbet's platform of supportive members and interactive communities allow us to be open and honest with something that's REAL.
