This challenge is going to be my way to get fit before my birthday! On June 19th I'll turn 24, and it's gonna be great :)

Quick backstory: I've always been pretty slim but never really in shape. Last summer I did Insanity workouts for about a month and ate clean, and got pretty toned within that time! I think I counted calories for about a day before I quit- it's a lot of work and it's just not for me. I went a month without eating fast food, and my insides felt amazing! I kept up with different workouts for about another month, then started slacking off. I still tried to eat well but I gave myself a pass more and more often. I bought a cheap fitness band, but I can't stand wearing it on my wrist (plus I work with my hands a lot so i feel like it's not as accurate). I started keeping it in my pocket and tracking my steps, but the app isnt user friendly so i stopped that too. By the fall, I started doing yoga and completely stopped other workouts. Yoga is great! I just needed to do more but I was stressing from work and couldn't motivate myself to do much else. Then the holidays hit, then it was cold and snowy until like mid-April, andddd there goes the little fitness I had. (Gains in the WRONG way!)

So now- I'm not as stressed from work, I still like yoga but I don't do it as much, I've been eating a LOT of junk (processed foods, fast foods, any and everything from dunkin donuts) and I don't feel good overall. I keep saying I need to start eating better and working out so I can feel good again, but all these excuses keep popping in my head. Then I saw Scola's dietbet challenge! I knew that putting money up would be a great motivation for me :)

I can't wait to do my initial weigh in and start getting healthier again! I bought more food storage containers so I can meal prep for the week, and I'm planning what I'm going to eat. I started reading up on calories, BMI, how to keep track, and all I can think of is how that's just not for me. Instead of planning foods based on arbitrary numbers, I'm gonna cut out extra sugar, drink a lot more water, and make better choices overall. Even if I don't hit my 4% goal (which would be about 5lbs), I know I'll feel way better and be more confident about my body :)
