This might be the third blog I've tried writing my weight loss story on. There's my main blog, www.themodernjaneausten.com, and the blogs at www.myfitnesspal.com, and now here.
Gotta say, this whole Diet Bet thing is a lot harder than I thought it would be. It might be because I do best at weight loss when I live on my own, and focus solely on my own meals. It's just me, so I don't have to think about anything else. My mom is a lot more helpful than my dad and sister, because she eats veggies, and isn't so picky.
I'm trying to keep control of what I eat at work. Some days it's easier than others. I find that I do the best at losing weight when I eat natural, whole foods. I believe that it's true that processed foods are the worst for you. I'd like to get them completely out of my life, but with two picky eaters in my house, it's not that simple.
I did get a bomb dropped on me this week. My cousin (who I think of as my little brother) is getting married in six weeks. We thought that they were getting married next June, but young couple that they are, they can't bear to be apart for so long (she's currently in Missouri, where they grew up, and he's in South Dakota, with the Air Force). I wanted to lose weight before the wedding, but with a year looming ahead of me, it was easy to put it off. Six weeks is a short enough time that I can really buckle down and focus.
I've also decided to not worry about the HUGE amount of weight I need to lose for me to be at my goal. Mini goals are the smart way to do it, and for now, I want to focus on getting to my high school weight (270), followed by high school graduation weight (250), post-college waitress weight (238), and move down from there.
So, first blog finished. I might still be able to win this round of "Commit to your Fit." You NEVER know!
Peace out.
