I have a few weeks off work and I think it'd be fun to incorporate a spa theme into my life during my vacation.
First, I've decided to follow this meal plan: Clean Eating Challenge. They call it a "detox" but I usually eat pretty clean anyway, so I'm just looking at it as a way to shake up my usual diet. Also Day 8 has shakshuka and i've been wanting to try that. People have left a lot of silly negative comments on that page but i think the plan is really well done, with detailed instructions, printable grocery lists, and lots of pretty pictures.
Where I live, I can't get quite a few of the ingredients (kale, quinoa, chia seeds, almond milk etc.) so I'm making a lot of adjustments, substituting with similar local vegetables or just making something totally different but similar nutrionally. It's shaping up to be a lot of spinach for me. There are also a few things on the grocery list that I can't find, but are easy enough to make from scratch. I made hummus and Greek yogurt today.
I had no intention of giving up coffee as they recommend, but on a whim this morning I decided to stick with green tea for a while. If nothing else, taking a break will enhance my enjoyment of coffee when I do start drinking it again. So far no headaches.
As for the rest of my spa life, I thinking I'll do some yoga, take a few baths, and do some extra skin care. I also want to organize my closets and give this 48 hour life detox a shot. I'm also taking a few coursera courses, which might not quite fit into the spa theme but we can't neglect the mind, right?
