I am VERY proud to say that I have met all of my fitness goals that I set for myself when I "found" dietbet back in Aug 2014 (lose 27 lbs to weigh 135 and run a full marathon).
On Sunday, Jan 18, I completed my marathon race. I can't begin to explain to you how awesome that feels.
I set a goal for myself to complete it in 5 hours, 15 minutes (12 min/mile pace). I kicked that goal's butt and finished in 4 HOURS 50 minutes (11:05 min/mile pace).
I RAN THE WHOLE DAMN THING.
I kept thinking to myself "when am I going to walk? well, I feel good right now, so I guess I'll walk later..." LATER NEVER CAME. I felt happy and awesome through the race. I got to mile 21 and thought "okay, I'm feeling tired now, but I've made it this far without walking. I'm going to just keep running"
I finished the race in a full out SPRINT. I left everything I had on that course, and I am very proud of myself.
So I find myself at ease; I've reached my goals. I need to make some new ones!
NEW GOALS:
- Run the Chicago Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon in LESS THAN 2 HOURS
- Comfortably hold several advanced yoga poses (See below)
- maintain weight at 135
