Tip number one: figure out your trigger, and find a specific, similar, but healthy alternative. For example, for chocolate, maybe you score some chocolate-flavored thin cookies (less cals). For chips, as it is probably the salt and crunch, try unbuttered air-popped popcorn. For emotional eating, try "awareness" - if you see the pattern cropping up, find a way to avoid the trap. Deep breathing (to decharge the feeling), go for a walk, etc.
