If you are worried about gaining muscle which will slow the progress on the scales, take some body measurements (hips, waist, bust, plus anywhere you think you're carrying extra). If you do take up running and your progress slows, you will no doubt still see inches lost as your body becomes tighter and stronger. Hopefully, this will stop you feeling demoralised when the scale hasn't moved in a while.Good luck!
