I tried to eat only 1200 calories, but it is really difficult to stay under 1200 calories. Just seems like it is too obsessive to count calories. I want to enjoy food, not count calories. There must be a better way. But I hasn't found it yet.

I love using MFP to track as well since it is pretty easy and I can make my own recipes. An occasional indulgence isn't the end of the world and you can also up your exercises to give you a little more calorie budget. Net calories is what I watch.
Why would you stay under 1200 calories? That's too low. You need food to fuel your body. What kind of workout/meal plan are you following?
I can't imagine. I eat close to 1500 calories but I don't count calories I measure and weigh my food and pick from catagories. It has worked for me. If you want I can give you my plan and you can try it.
