There is FIVE days left in my dietbet! I am not starving myself but I am watching every calorie that goes in my mouth! Now, when I say I am not starving myself, I might be cutting back a couple hundred calories a day more than I had in the first 23 days! And, my stomach may not agree with my mind that 1100 calories a day is not starving!

In comes FIBER! You see fiber is like a sponge to liquids. And like a sponge that fiber fills up my stomach, convincing it that 200 calories is filling! And so anything that keeps my stomach from controlling my mind and body (especially don’t want my stomach contolling my hand, causing it to open the cabinet door and pull out those crackers from the top shelf and stuff each one of them into my mouth!)

Now I will admit to you, that for these last 5 days I have purchased 5 or 6 boxes of Fiber One 90 fiber bars.  These are not CLEAN bars.  Haha! These are processed bars of sweet goodness and 5 grams of fiber and only 90 calories.  And I am not going to eat them all! My husband will have at least half of them… and hopefully there will be some left next week! But I don’t want to run out!

Why?

Because when you are hungry, and you have used up your calories for the day, fiber is your friend!

Now a clean fiber friend is Chia!  Chia is actually better than Fiber One 90 bars in one way.  For the same 5 grams of fiber is only 60 calories! And ‘making’ chia puddings is pretty easy.  You just mix a tablespoon in a liquid. It’s there in the liquid that the race begins to be iffy.

There are plenty of chia seed pudding recipes on Pinterest, look ‘em up!

Also, fiber cereals are also good!

WARNING – if you are not used to fiber, make sure you drink water water water! And that you start with a small half serving and work up. But I have been enjoying fiber for years so I am pretty good.

Now, if you are hungry and having a problem making it through the day on your calorie count, consider adding some fiber to your day!
