It is so cool to take a measurement after 3 months and 30 pounds lost to find out that I have lost 5 inches around my waist. I have only lost 2.5 inches from around my hips though. How do I know this?
I admit that I did not take measurements when I started diet bet, but I did have a duct tape dummy! And it’s pretty cool to see that I have lost weight! I need to make a new one because I have lost so many inches and that will be really cool.
If you want to make a duct tape dummy I can give you a couple of clues of what to do and what not to do. I tried the t-shirt method and even with help it was awful! The dummy eventually turned out, but it was a nightmare trying to do it w/o getting the take too tight!
A much easier and quicker method was to take measurements and cut out ovals from cardboard boxes. And put together with card board tubes/sticks between the ovals. Then once you have this skeleton done, cover it with saran wrap or cling wrap and top that with duct tape. I used an old bra for the chest area. ;-)
This is an example of where I took measurements: https://wkdesigner.wordpress.com/2007/09/15/pattern-drafting-by-height/
Still my point is – I HAVE LOST 5 INCHES FROM MY WAIST! And I hope (and expect) to lose 5 more inches in 30 more pounds!!! It sure is motivating to see that.
So… take your measurements at the beginning and the end of each month of your journey. Inspire yourself.
