This month is now in the books. My weight did not quite make the 3% goal, but I am not going to let that stop me. Although I may have gotten off to a slow start, I have learned much about my daily habits and changes that will be necessary to continue successfully on this weight loss journey. In fact, I am celebrating today by walking in a Color Me Rad 5K. Positive changes over the last month include a) eliminating gluten from my diet, as much as possible, b) controlling portions, c) tracking my food on a regular, consistent basis, and d) most importantly, becoming more active. This last change has been the hardest and will definitely receive a higher level of attention going forward. Looking ahead, I definitely plan to increase my activity each day. I have set a daily goal for steps on my Fitbit. I also intend to continue avoiding gluten. I credit this one step with increasing my awareness of the foods I am eating and the impact they have on my body. Avoiding gluten has had positive effects that provide incentive to continue. I also intend to take my measurements today as another way to see my progress. Month 2 here I come! I am ready to continue the journey!
For all who made their goal this month-Kudos to you! Keep up the good work. For those, like me, who may not have hit this month’s goal-hang in there. Take time to reflect on your successes and challenges over the last month. What worked? What didn’t? Set your goals for month 2 and join me in continuing on this journey of change. Wishes for a successful month to all.
