I joined Diet Bet in January of 2015 hoping to use it as an accountability tool as I began a doctor recommended very low carb (20g or less per day) ketogenic diet to help treat my PCOS and Insulin Resistance. My first transformer was easy, the diet was new and in the begining pounds seemed to fall off without much effort. Towards the end my weight loss slowed, but my clothes were still fitting better and I was getting stronger and faster and thats what mattered to me. I exceeded my goal for my first transformer by about 10lbs and I was elated. I used my winnings to buy some much needed smaller work clothes (I was starting to look a bit sloppy) and I immediately signed up for another Transformer to keep the momentum going through the back half of the year.
Today was the day to weigh in for Round 1. Today was also the first time since joining Diet Bet that I have not met the weigh in requirement. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I lost 0.4lbs this week, missing my goal by 0.8 lbs, but I am not discouraged. I have been a bit more lax than I should be. Indulging in cheats more, working out less and it's evident in my results. I know what I'm doing wrong, so now I just need to fix it.
I need to refocus.
- No more cheats or treats, food is fuel not a reward.
- 10k steps a day minimum! (looking for FitBit friends to help keep me accountable!)
- Make it to the gym at least 3x a week
- 3L of water a day
- Stay at or under 20g of carbs total NOT net
- only engage in 'active tv watching' (i.e. at least doing planks, burpees, jumping jacks, etc during commercial breaks)
- 7-8 hours of sleep per night
- get back in the habit of Sunday meal prep to help make healthier choices more easy and accessible
I have quite a bit going on personally right now, I am starting a new job (better opportunity and better hours!) and going back to school but I won't let those things get in the way. I am commited to my goals and I am worth it!
