Boom!
After yesterday's meal mishaps and knowing that I had a big chinese takeout coming up today, my mini challenge for the day was to compensate for my increased intake by doubling my planned steps to 20,000. I absolutely smashed it :)
I started off the day with a lovely long walk through the countryside with the fiance to the grounds of a local castle. The weather was gorgeous, and the 18,000 steps (and 7.6 miles) just flew by. I then came back to play with my lovely little 10 week old niece, before going out for a walk with her momma (the fiance was too tired, and was snoozing in an armchair). It was a lovely long hilly meander around town that pushed me past 26,000 steps.
I got back to the house just as the chinese food arrived. I enjoyed my crispy chili beef with egg fried rice, but I didn't have any chips and only a small handful of prawn crackers, and 2 pints of water. I ate more than I planned to. I really struggle to not finish my plate, and the fiance's dad seems to pride himself on setting up the table and dishing everything out, so I had a lot more on that plate than if I had dished up by myself. A lame excuse, I know, but I'm working on it.
When calculating my calories, I actually pitched them pretty high, as I didn't want to lie to myself about how much I had eaten. Even with that, I only ate about 250 cals more than I planned, but my mini-challenge bumped up my calorie burn by 1200 cals, so I more than compensated.
So, not the best food choices, but I tooks steps (literally) to make that ok, and I did it really well.
Feeling proud :)
