I just lost my 2nd diet bet after starting out strong and winning two in a row. I lost around 15 pounds but all i was concentrating on was my diet. I lost a ton of muscle and decided that I needed to start working out. Lately, I have been working out five times a week, if not more. I started lifting with my boyfriend and doing cardio sometimes both in one day and sometimes I do one if I can't do the other. I gained ALL of the weight back....alll of it! This is disappointing but at the same time, I can feel and am starting to see my body changing for the better. I have a lot more muscle and my fat is starting to fall off. My weight is still close to where it was after 4 1/2 weeks of training. When am I going to see the scale drop? I would like to be able to meet my 6 month transformation goal but I have a long way to go. Any words of wisdom??

Sign in to CommentGood for you for lifting! i think it's one of the most important things we can do as we lose weight. Keep the muscle you have, strength and build muscle and build bone! Glad you are lifting!
I'm no expert, by any stretch of the imagination. I just love lifting.
How many days are you lifting? For how long? Are you following a program?
I lift 2X a week (restarting after an injury, so only up to about 35 minutes each session) and walk/hike 5+ days a week, and do yoga 2+ days a week. Days I lift I am starving and have to make sure to have a protein drink or something similar after w/o, or I will clean the kitchen out.
Are you logging your food? Are you getting enuf water?

I'm having similar struggles - I've been doing amazing work outs but it's definitely making me put on muscle weight. My issue is my diet which majorly needs to shape up and is the reason I decided to do dietbet. I started another one that begins Saturday to keep me motivated. Any interest in joining? http://www.dietbetter.com/games/48730

I am experiencing the exact same thing. I haven't gained weight back but have been holding steady and therefore losing diet bets :/ BUT I'm feeling so good and my clothes are getting too loose and I have new muscles everywhere. But it's still frustrating because I still have at least 20 to lose.
