So sorry for your loss. I'm sure your friend would be proud of your progress in these tough times. I agree with sine, weigh yourself (same time in the morning, before you've eaten/drank anything) and chart it. I like to use the Health app in my iPhone, it'll chart over the week, month, or year. The week looks like a zigzag, but the year is definitely a downward slope.
