It's FRIDAY! And, it is DAY 5. It doesn't matter too much to me presently because my boss is on medical leave and at the moment Friday is the only day I am working. That's been a bit of a bummer. But, we are all wishing him good health and recovery.
So, I decided I'm not going to post my weight (from now) until the end of the competition, or about the end. I'm keeping track of it, but it is too much to keep updating it every day and if it goes up, I'm not going to want to update it. So, for now I'm just writing it in the a program on my Ipad. (yes I charged it up after the exercise bike "incident").
Yesterday I did a lot of exercise and today I'm a bit stiff, and that is an understatement. If it's not raining at lunchtime, I'm going to walk a bit. Now, where did I put my ipod? I would lose my head if it wasn't firmly attached.
I had breakfast for dinner, which my Mom and I do frequently, usually that means eggs. And, it did last night. Of course, at lunch I HAD to have my grilled chicken 6 inch subway. I do find that planning out your day's meals in advance makes it a lot easier than having it be 6 PM and you trying to think what you are going to have for dinner when you are tired and hungry. That rarely ends well. So, in the past I would think "well I will have a few nuts while I'm fixing dinner". Ugh..back on the nuts, I love the things but they definitely shouldn't be consumed when you are hungry and fixing dinner or worse, when you are watching tv. Well, I at least I shouldn't, I just like them too much.
I keep thinking that almost a week has gone by on the competition. That's a good thing. I hope everybody's "first week" resolve continues down to that 4th week.
I don't know if anyone has done this, but there are a lot of "virtual running" sites on the internet and Facebook. Basically you decide what distance you are going to run, sign up and then you notify them your time and distance. For that they send you a really cool medal. I have a bunch of running medals (hey, you get one for finishing. I only have 2 that I actually WON anything) but they are really cool and the most important thing is that they give you the dates to do the run (or walk) and you kind of HAVE to do it It's just a bit of a "push" to get moving, just like Dietbet is a push to lose the weight. Anyway, there are a lot of virtual running sites out there. One of them I signed up for is run by Moonjoggers and is "Mercury Rising". It is a year long event and every time you walk or run or bicycle (there are conversion mileage charts) you enter your distance. They send you a t-shirt (at the beginning) and at the end of the year they send the medal. Basically they are trying to get enough people to do the distance to MERCURY (hence the name Mercury Rising). Anyway, it makes me put some foot motion in about every day. They also have a lot of monthly virtual "races". Anyway, that was a long paragraph, but if you need some push for exercise, the virtual races are fun and as I mentioned, the medals are cool.
So, I'd better go eat that oatmeal or maybe protein drink (need to plan today) and get ready for work. FRIDAY! :) Denise
