That's a lot to be going through! I know that you've set a time deadline for yourself, but you need to remind yourself that this is real life. Yes, you could go crazy and dedicate all of your time/energy to diet/fitness, but is that going to be sustainable? If you're making progress, but it's slower than your wedding timeline, then it's still progress. You'll get there. And, where are you at now compared to when that picture was taken? Which, I have to say, is maybe a bad angle, but doesn't make you look obese. You still have a neck and a waist! Maybe you should try counting your calories and figuring out what your cheat days really look like numbers-wise? I've been shocked at some of mine (including a brownie binge yesterday). It happens, and yours seems to have been for a good reason, but you should be aware of what you're in for and it may help when you make decisions in the future.

Hey LilyN! I am pretty good about counting (and being honest in my counting) - so I see pretty clearly that I've been eating over my "goal" consistently for the past...six weeks? LOL. Yeah, that's a long time off the bandwagon. BUT! The silver lining is that I've pretty consistently adjusted my calories to my new actual weight. I'm eating about 200 calories less per day on average than I was six months ago. That in itself is a little victory. It means even if I'm not losing, I'm not gaining either. Thanks for your thoughtful comments, keep 'em coming!

I was just talking about weight with my husband since he has not changed anything about his eating at all, but has been consistently going to the gym to work out. In a year his weight has stayed the same and he's gained more muscle. While he hasn't lost weight, it is a victory that he hasn't gained anything! Prior to the gym he'd been gaining about 5 - 10 pounds a year! Imagine where you'd be today if you hadn't started six months ago and be grateful that you're making progress. :)
