First month done! And I won! :) I'm really pleased.
I want to consolidate my success with a good start to this month, but, wouldn't you know it, I have a scheduling challenge this very weekend. I am not going to let it defeat me, though. I'm making a plan A AND a plan B.
Now that I've won a month, I am of course, sure I am going to win them all :) and that there wil be a chunk of money in my pocket at the end of December. At least what I put in, and according to other people's success, maybe more.
It seems strange to hope for more money, knowing that means some people didn't succeed. :(
But plenty of people in their comments seem okay with not making a win- that the accountability of the process is worth it. That eases my conscience a little.
Especially as I have already found the accountability helping me. There were a few occasions where I turned down a treat, because of wanting to do well on the weekly, and now monthly, weigh-in.
And when one realizes that 95% of people fail at their diets conventionally, if Dietbet helps even half the people succeed, that's a better outcome, and a heartening payoff for the winners.
My plan when I started Dietbet, was to do two Transformers, then a Maintainer. Based on the first month, I am even more determined to do that. The thrill I got when I saw that little blue dot on my graph was a real boost.
When I lost quite a bit of weight before, my downfall was not maintaining. Not this time, I am determined. I will be signing up for that Maintainer as soon as I hit goal.
