Continuing with my plan to cut sugar addiction, here is the summary of day three.
No crazy food cravings today, not even a longing for granny smith apples, though they look pretty good on the shelf in my fridge. That said, my hunger levels were ridiculously low. I ate breakfast around 7 am, and due to poor planning and forgetfulness, I wasn't able to eat lunch until about 3 pm. I didn't even start to feel hungry until around 2. I also didn't eat all of my dinner.
Breakfast today was a cheddar cheese omlette and sauteed spinach.
I had about three cups of coffee today, each with cream.
Lunch, when I got around to having it, was a bucket of veggies with dill dip, summer sausage and laughing cow cheese.
Dinner was dijon chicken (usually made with mayonaise, dijon mustard and ritz crackers, but I scrapped the sauce off of mine), green beans and a spinach salad.
Of the 1200 calories I ate today;
Fat: 55%
Protein: 28%
Carb: 17%
Today, I only ate 14 grams of sugar, which is a huge improvement.
It makes me wonder, though, how people on Atkins, for instance, and do two whole weeks with only 20 g of carbs a day. I need to pick up some more lean meats to eat as snacks.
I only have two more days of this phase. Sunday will have me incorperating fruit (and therefore a little more fibre) into my diet. I just need to figure out if it's three pieces of fruit a day, or three pieces of fruit over those five days. I'll get back about that.
