So a little over a month ago, a friend of mine decided to start a Dietbet and I looked into it and thought, "Hey that's neat, and I'm looking to lose weight anyway so why not", and hence I joined it and two others. I wound up winning all three and while I still have some weight to lose, I'm feeling pretty good about this whole Dietbet thing. It's nice to be on a site where everyone's encouraging everyone else, it's social, it's fun, and I feel like I'm taking something I know will be a long haul and making it both fun and exciting.
At the time I'm writing this I'm down 9.6 pounds and counting. I'm not starving myself, I don't feel deprived, I'm just moving more and making sure that I don't eat a ton of stupid crap. I log everything in MyFitnessPal and am fortunate enough to be able bodied in that the math works for me. I really have no excuse other than my own BS not to do this, so...I am.
I look forward to ditching body fat, a bunch of crap, all of my excuses, and starting over. When I'm done I'll be at a weight I've only seen briefly over the past ten years, and instead of the whole "oh I'll just go by measurements and clothes vs the scale"--which was dumber than dumb--I'll be monitoring from now on because losing 3-5 pounds is soooo much easier than 30. :P
I'm in two other Dietbets right now and waiting on what pops up before I select a third, I'm having fun, I've stuck this thing in cruise control and I look forward to the results.
