Just got off of a Night Shift.
Yesterday I did not get my walk in, BUT I did do an hour and half of hard core yard work, dug two large holes in gravel and clay to plant some Iris (no small feat), weed eated a portion of my front yard that had overgrown. Raked up the clippings and swept the sidewalks clear of debri. It was hard enough work that I almost quit half way through, but I REALLY wanted to finish what I started, so I pushed my way through to the end. So, not only did I get in a good workout, but I managed to take care of a chore that I had been putting off for a long time. The yard is looking good.
I stuck to the diet. I brought to work a Turkey sandwich, Veggies and Dip, and raw almonds to munch on. A lot of times I don't get the chance to really sit down and eat a meal, being the only Nurse on staff at night with 38 patients. So the grab and eat lunches are my best bet. I left out the Pepsi, that I usually drink, and drank a pitcher of water and one of Crystal Light Ice Tea. I switched my usual chips and popcorn for veggies and almonds. I can't say that I didn't miss my junk food, but I didn't really have the uncontrollable desire for them like I thought that I would. All in all, I don't think that I did too bad.
Came home and drank a Low Cal Protien Shake. Now I'm winding down so that I can sleep the day away, so I can work again tonight.
